"We proposed realistic, feasible alternatives.."

This was according to Michelin. There is nothing in their proposal that you can consider as a valid alternative. Will they agree to these proposals if they were to be on the other end of the bargain table? I don't think so. Blaming Bernie Ecclestone or the FIA for this matter is completely ridiculous. Also Bridgestone and Ferrari have nothing to do with this. Everything boils down to one simple thing. The big corporate, hungry Tyre manufacturing giant has decided selfishly, without any thought or consideration for the race fans all over the world, that they will rather indulge in an act of deceit rather than compromise.

This is their fault to begin with. It has been clearly established and agreed upon that there has to be backups that maybe slower but reliable. Mr. Michelin, where are the backups? Are you not ashamed to say that backups are also not safe? How much money do you guys make out of formula 1? Is there a limit for greed? Yes, that’s what I call.. Greed has made them and pushed them to make compromises without any consideration for anything else, except for making more and more profits. If they would have been willing to reduce their profits (ill-attained) and invest more on equipment, (at least just do what is agreed upon according to the rules.. manufacture and keep a slower set of tyres that are safe.), then they would have avoided such a fiasco.

Well, what about the teams.. You can’t really blame them. The way the system works, they would be the one to blame with multi-million dollar lawsuits, had they went ahead and raced and something had gone wrong. That’s why the FIA is also pointing fingers to the source. The following is a statement from the FIA.

Formula One is a sporting contest. It must operate to clear rules. These cannot be negotiated each time a competitor brings the wrong equipment to a race.

At Indianapolis we were told by Michelin that their tyres would be unsafe unless their cars were slowed in the main corner. We understood and among other suggestions offered to help them by monitoring speeds and penalising any excess. However, the Michelin teams refused to agree unless the Bridgestone runners were slowed by the same amount. They suggested a chicane.

The Michelin teams seemed unable to understand that this would have been grossly unfair as well as contrary to the rules. The Bridgestone teams had suitable tyres. They did not need to slow down. The Michelin teams’ lack of speed through turn 13 would have been a direct result of inferior equipment, as often happens in Formula One. It must also be remembered that the FIA wrote to all of the teams and both tyre manufacturers on June 1, 2005, to emphasise that tyres should be built to be reliable under all circumstances.

A chicane would have forced all cars, including those with tyres optimised for high-speed, to run on a circuit whose characteristics had changed fundamentally from ultra-high speed (because of turn 13) to very slow and twisting. It would also have involved changing the circuit without following any of the modern safety procedures, possibly with implications for the cars and their brakes. It is not difficult to imagine the reaction of an American court had there been an accident (whatever its cause) with the FIA having to admit it had failed to follow its own rules and safety procedures.

The reason for this debacle is clear. Each team is allowed to bring two types of tyre: one an on-the-limit potential race winner, the other a back-up which, although slower, is absolutely reliable. Apparently, none of the Michelin teams brought a back-up to Indianapolis. They subsequently announced they were flying in new tyres from France but then claimed that these too were unsafe.

What about the American fans? What about Formula One fans world-wide? Rather than boycott the race the Michelin teams should have agreed to run at reduced speed in turn 13. The rules would have been kept, they would have earned Championship points and the fans would have had a race. As it is, by refusing to run unless the FIA broke the rules and handicapped the Bridgestone runners, they have damaged themselves and the sport.

It should also be made clear that Formula One Management and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as commercial entities, can have no role in the enforcement of the rules.

I told myself, I needed to start an introduction atleast for now. Because some issues are so vital, the people in washington need to stop playing politics and do the right thing for the people. Issues like, Education, Healthcare, Homeland Security and Social Security are very important to even remotely think we can afford to do some gimmicks here and there. Our future generation's welfare remains on our hands. Its our responsibility. Some people say, I quote
"The issue that involves the federal government is whether or not to use taxpayers' money that would end up destroying life."

Well, aren't we doing that in Iraq? Haven't we done that in Japan, Vietnam, North Korea, Germany and several other places? Aren't we doing that in capital punishment? yes there are valid reasons for all those. We needed to remove Saddam. We needed to revenge for perl harbor. Someone has to stop Hitler. Spread of communism has to be stopped. Really bad people need to be punished. If all these reasons are good enough for us to indulge in an activity that would destroy life, then the possibility of scientific research that could save lives is one good reason to pursue this stem cell research. For God sake we are not talking about ripping the embryo out of a pregnant woman and send it to the lab so that some rich old Alzheimer's patient will survive. We are talking about cells that are already in the lab, that already can be destroyed, if the donors choose not to use it and throw it out. (By the way this is legal as of today)

Even several republicans are in favor of this. I do not believe in abortion. But we live in a world of survival of the fittest. Some people in the left will say an unborn baby is not a life to begin with. I am not even going to that extreme. Let us give a chance to Science which will sort itself out in the end. As always. If we would have followed some religious writing, whether it is Bible or Quaran or Tora or Gita or someother text, then the science would not have advanced as it is today. So many lives are being saved, because manking has decided to take that one bold adventureous step to move forward.

Someone told me today this is like human cloning. You are talking the cell and coming up with a solution in order to fix yourself. Tomorrow, what is the gaurentee that we wont say, hey, my heart is getting old and I need a transplant, Go, get it from my clone. So, do you then keep the clone in a state of coma so that all the parts can be used? Human cloning is a dangerous thing. Its like playing God. I agree. But sooner or later we have to face this. It is going to happen. The mechanics of inevitability always manages to catches us in the wrong moment.

I am going to have to cut short for now, because human cloning, capital punishment, even stem cell research are all vast topics that involves several complicated stuff that need to be analyzed properly, so we will have it another time.

Where are we going with these seat belts on all the school buses? Where do we draw the limit? Is it just me or someone else also thinks this is a little bit too much.

Kids need to be taught discipline for their own good. In those days when you grow up your parents taught you, not to cross the road suddenly. Stop, look to your left, then right, and make sure there are no zooming cars, before you make a move. They kept stammering this in your brain until you get it. These days, I see near several traffic lights, a special attendant in her bright orange or yellow outfit stopping the traffic and allowing teenagers (I mean they are practically adults in every respect, so they claim when they have drug themselves or sleep around or for many other things), to cross the road. Talk about Assistance!

Now, its not just that all these are enough, now some probably drugged or drunk driver got behind the wheel of a school bus and here you go, everyone is screaming on top of their lungs, we got to have seat belts on the school bus. Come on, what about monitoring and making sure no one is driving a school bus while intoxicated?

Some may claim that we already have a system in place, but trust me that system is dysfunctional. Do you know how many of these school bus drivers get their friends sample for the urine test? We simply turn a blind eye and act as if nothing has happened. What about ethics? Teach some responsibility for those drivers and dismiss all the suspected ones, instead of all this bullshit.

What may follow is, spending hours and hours of time debating and re-writing and proposing a bill, and get it passed in congress and pass it into a law, with photo-ops for the president (whoever it is), and awarding the contract to some company that has strings to someone in Washington to install seat belts in all the buses. This does not just stop there. What would it take to make sure the kids are actually wearing those seat belts? Then someone will come with the wonderful idea of appointing an aid for every school bus to make sure that the kids are wearing them, and this need to be ensured after every stop, before the bus can move, leaving the ignition on and consuming the valuable gasoline, of not only the bus but also of all the other vehicles patiently waiting behind.

Well, all this may sound like someone's frustration being poured in a blog, but believe me, it simply is not the case. The reality remains this way and some can foresee this. What about some simple discipline? Just take some responsibility as a parent and teach. The government and teachers cannot do everything for your kid.

Until then, lets all drive carefully.

Have you ever wonderded that this routine TV channels make you almost sick and they never give anything original? Everything seems to be filtered and made "politically correct". There is no room for originality.. Even online, all the news sites has the exact same story: You go to cnn or yahoo news or msnbc and in most cases you find the exact same story. Exact same lines even. At the bottom of the page you see the Associated Press sign. Well, folks, don't be surprised because in this day and age everything is filtered and presented in a fashion that would be "acceptable". That's what they would say. But acceptable to who? The big corporations and government? To the drug and insurance companies? To the select few rich? Or sometimes to the popularity? sometimes to the poor? Sometimes to the minority? sometimes to immigrants? based on the acceptability ratio this is always done in some sort of so called politically correct way.

But what about originality? What about true opinion? Why there is so much pretense in this society?

Sometimes this real opinion from several people enrich many ideas and make the most of themselves when shared in its true form. Well in this inofrmation age with a few bucks you can also share your opinion in its true form, which I am sure would prove beneficial to someone somewhere in this little world.

Well, thats what I do here. This is not liberal. This is not conservative. This is not moderate. This is not socialism, neither communism nor nationalism. This is not for or against big corporations. This is not for or against minority. This is plain, simple and real. Enjoy the difference!

Good Day Everyone
